|---|
So, it's clear that the activity level on the en_GB isn't quite up to handling the FAQ changes we've been making lately, and Outdated Information Is Bad. It's been proposed ( ) that something needs to be done with the en_GB FAQs at the very least, and possibly doing away with the translation entirely.
As I see it, there are a couple of options:
1. Take the plunge and just get rid of en_GB. It's kind of silly to have a translation delay, sometimes significantly, between speakers of the same language. I don't think the minor differences in spelling and usage really justify the misinformation that can linger in untranslated FAQs.
2. Try to talk to the development team to see if there's a technical solution they can provide, to allow en_GB FAQs to just show the en_LJ version, but keep the en_GB site text where it's already in place. New FAQs will do this automatically if nobody translates them in en_GB, but old FAQs won't.
3. Give translate privs to those with faqedit privs, so they can go and update the en_GB version at the same time. This is the least ideal solution, in my opinion.
